Project Overview
The Ethical Agency designed Greenpeace Africa’s 2024 Annual Report, “Climate Crisis: Africa at a Crossroads”, capturing a demanding year of campaigning across the continent for funders, partners and the movement. Beyond the English edition, we copyedited the content, translated it into French and laid out the full French version. Our work ran from editorial structure and layout to data visualisation and the infographics that hold a content-heavy year together. The aim was to present a Pan-African organisation’s impact with both credibility and warmth.

Greenpeace Africa’s 2024 Annual Report, “Climate Crisis: Africa at a Crossroads”, had to carry a packed year, policy advocacy, nature and planet protection, corporate accountability, mass action and the response to Kenya’s floods, for funders, partners and the movement. The catch: the previous edition had grown unwieldy, and the brief was to cut the page count by half without losing the substance. That is an editing and structure problem before it is a design one. We started with copyediting to tighten the content, then used our Publication Planner tool to plan every one of the report’s sections and pages, deciding what earned its place before any annual report design began.
A leaner report still has to feel like Greenpeace. We built a brand-aligned design system, a disciplined two-column editorial grid, a section-navigation header running across Policy Advocacy, Nature and Planet Protection, Accountability, Mass Action and Bearing Witness, and a consistent typographic hierarchy that gives a content-heavy year a clear rhythm. Pull-quotes from public figures and a geographic footprint map add weight and a sense of place. It is the publication design discipline that keeps a dense report readable from the first page to the last.
The year’s momentum lives in its numbers, and we made them impossible to miss. We created report-aligned infographics, KPI tiles and data tables to surface the headline figures: 179,048 new supporters, 109,391 petition signatures (up 310% on 2023) and 15 campaign petitions launched. Set beside documentary photography from across the continent, this infographic design lets a reader feel the scale of the movement’s growth at a glance rather than hunting through paragraphs.
Greenpeace Africa campaigns across Anglophone and Francophone Africa, from the DRC and Cameroon to Senegal and South Africa, so the report had to work in two languages. Beyond the English edition, TEA undertook the French translation and produced the full layout and design of the French version, so Francophone audiences read the same clear, on-brand report as Anglophone ones. Copyediting and one shared design system kept both editions consistent and accurate.
We delivered the report print-ready and as a compressed digital PDF, in English and French, easy to share across channels. It is the first of two years of annual report design we have produced for Greenpeace Africa, followed by the Greenpeace Africa 2025 Annual Report.

To present a busy year of climate campaigning across Africa, advocacy, forests, oceans, fossil-fuel accountability and flood response, clearly and credibly for funders and supporters. TEA handled design, copyediting and a French edition.
Editorial structure and navigation, layout and typesetting, data visualisation, KPI tiles and infographics, plus copyediting, French translation and the French layout, in print-ready and digital formats.
We planned the pagination up front with our Publication Planner tool, then used a two-column system, a section-navigation header and clear data callouts so a dense year stays easy to read.
English and French. TEA translated the content and designed the full French edition alongside the English one.
Yes. TEA regularly designs annual, impact and sustainability reports for environmental NGOs and mission-led clients across Africa and beyond.
Typically four to eight weeks from brief to delivery, with copyediting and translation planned into the schedule.
TEA combines editorial design strength with data-heavy, values-led publishing, and works as a B Corp aligned with Greenpeace Africa’s mission.
It is published on the Greenpeace Africa website and linked from this page.
