Careers Can Change – Brand Development, Website Design and Digital Marketing

The Careers Can Change (CCC) campaign is a coalition of independent organisations that have come together to inspire people in their midlives to believe that their careers can change successfully. Convened by Phoenix Insights, this group comprises eight partners who offer support and expertise and run programmes to help people successfully make career changes.

Starting with a logo

The Ethical Agency was tasked with building the CCC brand from the ground up. Starting with the logo, we presented various plausible ideas until the client chose the current logo. The process went as follows: from the initial concept submission, two contenders came to the fore, leading to elements from both design concepts being combined and tweaked until we settled on the current logo. The idea behind the iconography is collaboration, support, and communication. The colour scheme was devised to have an aesthetic connection with the parent brand, The Phoenix Group.

Website design and development

The CCC website brings together a group of experts and organisations that support successful career changes for UK individuals in midlife. A wide range of inspirational stories, practical help, and advice is available on the website for all to access.

Our website design ethos embodies clean, accessible, responsive, and intuitive user experiences that put people at the heart of the content, whilst providing viewers with a logical journey toward what they are looking for. As we have demonstrated before, humans connect and relate to other humans, which is why we rely on human-centric design to create engaging content. 

Another key tactic we employ is to decrease the carbon footprint of our clients’ websites through strategic, sustainable web design and development. Most people do not think about the carbon footprint of a website–every time someone views a web page, they are downloading content from a server to their device. Therefore, reducing the content load and optimising website performance is essential to reducing expended energy. The website is now powered by 100% renewable energy in the form of wind and hydropower (no offsets). 

In addition, we are proud to report that the Careers Can Change website scores 99 out of 100 according to Google’s Page Speed Insights on desktop.

The Ethical Agency is also the official digital marketing partner for Careers Can Change, managing their social media content creation and paid media management.
